In 2005, she made her debut in Tamil movie through Ayya, directed by Hari. She then became popular in Tamil industry through Chandramukhi, Ghajini, Kalvanin Kadhali, Vallavan, E, Aadhavan, and some other movies.
In 2007, She made a gangster movie called Billa (which was a remake of the same named tamil movie in 1980) opposite Ajith kumar brought her fame and was a superhit commercial success.
